Arms of God Best Weapons Per Act — What to Use in Acts 1, 2, 3, and 4

2026-08-09·Weapons

Why Act-Specific Weapon Choice Matters

A weapon that is S-tier in Act 4 can be useless in Act 1 because you lack the blessings and upgrades that make it work. Conversely, some weapons dominate early acts but fall off hard by Act 3.

This guide recommends weapons based on what is AVAILABLE at each stage and what ENEMIES you actually face — not theoretical endgame rankings.

Act 1: Keeping It Simple

What you face: Hollow Soldiers, Shield Bearers, Flame Imps, Chargers. Archon of Storms boss. What is available: Starting class weapons, first 5-8 drops. Level range: 1-10.

Best Act 1 Weapons

| Weapon | Why It Works in Act 1 |

|--------|----------------------|

| Dual Blades (Assassin start) | Fastest attack speed. Kills Flame Imps before they fire. Dodge iframes make Chargers trivial. Best overall Act 1 weapon. |

| Holy Crossbow (first drop or choose Ranger) | Pierces Shield Bearer shields. Kills Imps at range. Safe boss damage against Archon. |

| Burning Pike (random drop Act 1 elite) | Long reach keeps Chargers at distance. Fire DOT finishes Imps in one hit + burn. |

| Heavy Axe (Berserker start) | One-shots Hollow Soldiers. Slam staggers Chargers mid-charge. Slow but everything dies in one hit. |

| Water Spear (Act 1 water area drop) | Fast thrusts. The hidden throw mechanic one-shots Flame Imps from across the room. |

Avoid in Act 1: Hammer (too slow, Chargers punish you), Fist Weapons (range too short, Imps kill you before you reach them), any weapon requiring specific blessings (you do not have blessings yet).

Act 1 Boss Setup

Archon of Storms is weak to physical damage. Bring a fast physical weapon (Dual Blades, Heavy Axe) and stay close — his ranged lightning is harder to dodge than his melee swipes. Full boss guide: [Archon of Storms](/guides/arms-of-god-archon-of-storms-guide).

Act 2: Damage Types Start to Matter

What you face: Plague Rats, Skeleton Archers, Wraiths, Golems. Forgotten King boss.

What is available: 12-15 weapons unlocked, first blessing online. Level range: 10-18.

Best Act 2 Weapons

| Weapon | Why It Works in Act 2 |

|--------|----------------------|

| Frostbite Blade (Level 5 Ice weapon unlock) | Freeze stops Wraiths from phasing. Freeze-locks Golems during recovery. Best Act 2 weapon. |

| Stormcaller Bow (Zone 3 clear unlock) | Ranged shock damage chains through Rat swarms. Kills Archers without entering their firing line. |

| Sunforged Hammer (Act 2 elite drop) | Charged heavy AoE clears entire Rat swarms in one swing. Kills Golems in 4 charged hits. |

| Holy Crossbow (carry from Act 1) | Piercing still effective. Holy damage bonus against Wraiths. |

| Consecrated Mace (Cathedral drop) | Passive healing keeps you alive against poison stacks from Rats. |

Avoid in Act 2: Single-target melee weapons (Rats swarm you), Fire-element weapons (Golems resist fire), slow weapons without AoE (you get overwhelmed).

Act 2 Boss Setup

Forgotten King is a DPS check. He summons adds at 75%, 50%, and 25% HP. If you cannot clear adds fast enough, you get overwhelmed. Bring an AoE weapon (Sunforged Hammer, Heavy Axe) or a piercing ranged weapon (Holy Crossbow). Frost blessing freezes the adds, giving you time to damage the boss. [Forgotten King guide](/guides/arms-of-god-forgotten-king-boss-guide).

Act 3: Build Synergy Required

What you face: Shadow Assassins, Fire Mages, Corrupted Paladins. Fire Elemental boss.

What is available: 30+ weapons, dual blessings, merge system. Level range: 18-28.

Best Act 3 Weapons

| Weapon | Why It Works in Act 3 |

|--------|----------------------|

| Void Reaper (Act 3 elite drop) | Execute kills Shadow Assassins before they teleport away. Void damage ignores Paladin armor. |

| Dual Blades + Frostbite Blade combo | Dual Blades stack Frost, swap to Frostbite for freeze-lock on Assassins. The swap combo is essential for Act 3 survivability. |

| Divine Weapons (any) | Bonus damage against all Act 3 enemy types. Worth farming for. See [Divine Weapons guide](/guides/arms-of-god-divine-weapons-guide). |

| Burning Pike (returning from Act 1) | Fire damage destroys Mages. Long reach keeps you out of Paladin buff aura. |

| Stormcaller Bow | Ranged shock chains stun Assassins mid-teleport. Safe DPS against all Act 3 enemies. |

Avoid in Act 3: Pure physical weapons (Paladins have high physical armor), slow weapons without stun/freeze (Assassins punish slow recovery), any weapon without elemental damage.

Act 3 Boss Setup

Fire Elemental is a movement fight. Bring Frost + anything fast. Freeze procs interrupt the fire nova attack (his most dangerous move). Stay at mid-range — too close and the flame aura burns you, too far and the tracking fireballs are unavoidable. [Fire Elemental guide](/guides/arms-of-god-fire-elemental-boss-guide).

Act 4: Everything Must Be Optimized

What you face: Void Reapers, Divine Guardians. Divine Engine + Omega bosses.

What is available: All 60 weapons, maxed blessings, Cathedral upgrades. Level range: 28-50.

Best Act 4 Weapons

| Weapon | Why It Works in Act 4 |

|--------|----------------------|

| Seraph's Judgment (Divine Engine drop) | The best weapon in the game. Holy damage, AoE light beams on kill, heals on hit. Worth farming Divine Engine until it drops. |

| Infernal Repeater (Act 4 elite drop) | Highest sustained DPS in the game. Fire element melts everything. Requires high attack speed blessings to reach full potential. |

| Stormcaller (full lightning build) | With Thunder + Wind dual blessings, Stormcaller clears rooms faster than any other setup. |

| Dual Blades + Seraph's Judgment | Dual Blades for trash, swap to Seraph's for elite/boss damage. Covers all situations. |

| Any legendary-upgraded weapon from your build | At this stage, your specific build matters more than the weapon. A legendary-upgraded mid-tier weapon outperforms a base S-tier. |

Avoid in Act 4: Unupgraded weapons (base weapons cannot compete), pure single-target weapons (Divine Guardian room has 6+ enemies), experimental builds (Act 4 is not the place to test new setups).

Act 4 Boss Setup

Divine Engine (final boss) requires both single-target DPS and AoE — the boss spawns adds regularly. Divine Engine Omega (true final boss) is pure single-target DPS with extreme movement requirements. See [Divine Engine guide](/guides/arms-of-god-divine-engine-final-boss-guide) and [Omega guide](/guides/arms-of-god-divine-engine-omega-boss-guide).
