Arms of God Inferno Build — Best Weapons, Blessings & Stats (2026)
The Inferno build is the strongest fire setup in Arms of God. It stacks burn damage so high that Act 4 elites with 40% physical resist still melt. Here's the exact loadout, the blessing order, and the merge path that gets you there.

One warning up front: this reflects the launch build. Arms of God is Early Access and Dark Jay has already rebalanced twice, so if you're reading this months after August 2026, check the [patch notes](/guides/arms-of-god-patch-notes-update-history) before copying anything.
Why Burn Damage Is the Whole Build
Every fire hit applies one burn stack, up to 3 per enemy. Each stack deals 5% of weapon damage per second for 4 seconds. At 3 stacks that's 15% per second — 60% weapon damage over the full window, on top of your normal attacks.
The part that matters: burn ignores armor and shields. Act 4 elites resist 40% of physical damage, but burn cuts straight through. That's the difference between a 4-minute boss fight and a 6-minute one.
The Merge Path: Fire Staff → Inferno Staff
You start with the Fire Staff, which is already the best Act 1 weapon. The Inferno upgrade is a specific merge:
Fire Staff + Fire Essence → Inferno Staff
This is a pure fire merge. It bumps fire power by 25% and raises burn damage from 5% to 6.25% per stack. At 3 stacks you're doing 18.75% per second instead of 15%. Looks minor, but over a 60-second boss fight that's roughly 225 extra damage per 100 weapon damage.
Don't merge into the Inferno Staff before Act 3. The base Fire Staff with good blessings clears rooms faster than a prematurely merged staff, because the blessing economy matters more early.
Blessing Priority (This Matters More Than the Weapon)
The order that actually works:
| Priority | Blessing | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Kindling | Burn stacks last 2 seconds longer. At 3 stacks this pushes the total to 90% weapon damage over the full duration. Biggest single damage boost in the build. |
| 2 | Elemental Amplifier | +25% elemental damage, multiplies both direct hits and burn ticks. |
| 3 | Permafrost | +30% damage to frozen enemies. Pair with an ice secondary. |
| 4 | Inferno (the blessing) | When any enemy has 5+ burning stacks, everything on screen takes 10% increased damage. Fire-killed enemies also explode. |
Grab Kindling first, then Elemental Amplifier, then Permafrost, then Inferno. Skipping Kindling early is the most common mistake — that extra 2 seconds of burn is worth more than the flat damage bonuses.
Loadout by Act
Act 1 — Fire Staff solo. Apply 3 burn stacks, dodge, let the ticks work. No other Act 1 weapon clears rooms this efficiently.
Act 2 — Add an ice weapon. Fire first to stack burns, switch to ice, freeze, and the burn ticks hit for +30% from Permafrost. The fire-then-freeze pattern is the core loop.
Act 3 — Merge to Inferno Staff. Bring Chain Master so burn spreads to chained enemies.
Act 4 — Full build: Inferno Staff + Kindling + Elemental Amplifier + Permafrost. This kills Divine Engine Omega in about 4 minutes. Not the fastest clear (Assassin beats it), but it's the safest.
Best Secondary Weapons
- Frostbite Blade — freeze proc pairs with Permafrost. The standard fire-then-freeze combo.
- Ice Wand — the Frostfire merge (Fire + Ice) gives burn + slow, enemies approach at 60% speed while burning.
- Lightning Essence — the Plasma merge (Fire + Lightning) spreads burn to chained enemies at 50% effectiveness.
For the pure Inferno build, keep a fire primary and an ice secondary. The Permafrost synergy is worth more than any hybrid merge.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best Inferno build in Arms of God?
Inferno Staff + Kindling + Elemental Amplifier + Permafrost, with an ice secondary for the fire-then-freeze pattern. It clears Divine Engine Omega in about 4 minutes.
How do you get the Inferno Staff?
Merge a Fire Staff with a Fire Essence. This is a pure fire merge that gives +25% fire power and raises burn damage from 5% to 6.25% per stack.
Is the Inferno build better than Assassin?
For safety, yes. Assassin clears faster but is fragile. Inferno is the safest endgame build with competitive damage.
