Steam Cloud

Steam Cloud is enabled by default for Arms of God. However, it only syncs `save_data.dat` — NOT `settings.ini`. This means your settings don't transfer between devices automatically.

How to Backup Your Save

1. Navigate to the save file location above

2. Copy the entire `ArmsOfGod` folder to a backup location (USB drive, cloud storage)

3. To restore: replace the current `ArmsOfGod` folder with your backup

How to Transfer Saves Between Steam and Epic

Saves are compatible between Steam and Epic versions. Copy `save_data.dat` from the source location to the destination location. Steam achievements won't transfer (they're tracked by the platform, not the save file).

Common Issues

Save file corrupted: Delete `save_data.dat` and launch the game — it will create a fresh save. Your Cathedral progress will be lost. Use a backup if you have one.

Steam Cloud conflict: If you see a "Cloud Save Conflict" dialog, choose "Local Files" (your current device) if you just played, or "Cloud Files" if you're on a new device.

Achievement progress lost: Achievements are stored in your platform profile (Steam/Epic), not the save file. If they're missing, it's a platform issue — contact Steam/Epic support.
