Arms of God Forgotten King Boss Guide — Phase-by-Phase Strategy & Safe Spots [2026]
Forgotten King Overview
The Forgotten King is the Act 3 end boss — and the hardest difficulty spike in the game. Most players wipe here 5-10 times before their first clear. Here's how to beat him consistently.
HP: ~15,000 (Normal) / ~22,000 (Hard) Phases: 3 Damage Type: Physical + Shadow Weakness: Holy damage (+25%)
Phase 1 (100% - 70% HP): Melee Combos
The King uses three melee attacks:
1. Overhead Slam: Raises sword for 1.5 seconds, slams down in a 3m cone. Dodge sideways, not backward (the slam has a shockwave that extends behind).
2. Horizontal Sweep: Sword sweeps 180 degrees. Jump over it — the sweep hitbox is at ground level only.
3. Thrust Combo: Three quick thrusts covering 8m forward. Strafe left continuously — the thrusts track slightly but can't turn fast enough to catch lateral movement.
Strategy: Stay at mid-range (5-8m). Bait the Thrust Combo (easiest to dodge), punish with 3-4 hits, back off. Repeat.
Phase 2 (70% - 35% HP): Shadow Clone
At 70%, the King splits into two — the real King (solid outline) and a Shadow Clone (translucent).
Key mechanic: Only the real King takes damage. The Shadow Clone has 30% of the real King's HP but deals full damage. Kill the clone first — it dies quickly and the King won't summon another until Phase 3.
Safe spots: Bottom-left corner of the arena. The Shadow Clone's AI pathing gets stuck on the arena geometry, giving you 5-8 seconds of solo King time.
Phase 3 (35% - 0% HP): Arena-Wide Shadow Storm
At 35%, the arena fills with shadow projectiles that orbit clockwise. The King attacks normally during this phase.
Movement pattern: Walk clockwise with the projectiles at mid-range from the King. This keeps you ahead of the projectiles while staying in attack range. Use Divine Form during this phase — the invincibility frames ignore both King attacks and shadow projectiles.
