Act 3 Walkthrough Overview

Act 3 takes place in The Ashen Spire, a vertical tower wrapped in perpetual storm. This is where the game stops pulling punches. Enemy HP jumps roughly 50% from Act 2, environmental hazards become lethal, and the Archon of Storms boss fight at the end has ended more runs than any encounter before Act 4.

Act 3 has 24 rooms: 16 combat rooms, 3 Rest Shrines, 2 merchants, 1 optional mini-boss, and the Archon of Storms boss arena.

Recommended Entry Requirements

Entering Act 3, you should have:

  • Character level 12-15
  • At least one Tier 3 weapon (from Act 2 merchant or merge)
  • Cathedral upgrades: Movement Speed maxed, HP level 3+, Damage level 2+
  • 3+ blessings, at least 2 at level 2+
  • 4+ Divine Vials
  • If you skipped the Corrupted Bishop: bring fire and shock weapons for elemental coverage

Zone-by-Zone Walkthrough

Zone 1: The Storm Gate (Rooms 1-6)

The Spire's outer wall. Wind gusts push your character every 8 seconds — the direction is random. Always position yourself with a wall behind you when the wind timer is about to tick, otherwise a gust can push you off ledges.

New enemy: Stormcaller. Ranged caster that summons lightning strikes on your position after a 1.5-second charge-up. The tell is a small blue circle on the ground. If you see it, move 2 steps in any direction. Stormcallers are priority #1 in every room they appear — their lightning deals 25% of your max HP and ignores armor.

Room 3: First wind platforming section. Three floating platforms with gaps between them. Cross during the 5-second wind-free window that follows each gust. If you fall, you do not die but spawn at the bottom of the room with 30% HP lost and must re-climb.

Room 5 Rest Shrine: Use it. Upgrade your core damage blessing.

Hidden Room: Room 4. A lightning bolt strikes a specific pillar every 30 seconds (watch for the scorch mark). When the pillar is struck, a hidden door on the left wall opens for 8 seconds. Inside: rare blessing and 150 gold.

Zone 2: The Armory (Rooms 7-12)

The Armory is a gauntlet — 6 consecutive combat rooms with no Rest Shrine between them. Enemy comps are varied: you face Shield Bearers, Stormcallers, and the new Ascended Soldier (elite with double HP and a charge attack that cannot be blocked).

Room 10 mini-boss: Ascended Knight (optional)

A tougher version of the Act 1 Corrupted Knight. New attack: lightning-infused charge that leaves shock puddles on the ground. Shock puddles deal damage over time and stack with other shock effects.

Strategy: Circle-strafe the Knight. His turn speed is slower than your movement speed. Every time he charges, he leaves a shock puddle that persists for 15 seconds — manage your arena space carefully. At 50% HP, he summons 2 Stormcallers. Kill them immediately.

Drop: Ascended Plate (unique armor component — reduces shock damage by 25%). Extremely valuable for the Archon fight.

Hidden Room: Room 8. On the upper balcony (use the crates in the corner to climb). Contains lore tablet #4 and a weapon upgrade altar (free +1 upgrade level to equipped weapon).

Zone 3: The Conduit (Rooms 13-19)

The Conduit channels storm energy through the Spire. Lightning arcs between conductive pillars every 10 seconds. The arcs deal 40% max HP — they are lethal. Watch the pillar glow: pillars glow blue for 3 seconds before arcing.

Room 14: The hardest non-boss room in Act 3. 4 Stormcallers on elevated platforms, 2 Shield Bearers on the ground, and lightning pillars active. Strategy: rush the left staircase first, kill the 2 Stormcallers on the left platforms, then use the elevated position to snipe the remaining Stormcallers. Do not fight on the ground floor — the Shield Bearers will pin you while lightning kills you.

Room 16 merchant: Stock up before the boss. Buy priority:

1. Divine Barrier consumable (blocks one OHKO — essential for Archon)

2. Divine Vials (have at least 4)

3. Shock resistance blessing (if you did not get Ascended Plate)

4. Weapon upgrade if you have gold remaining

Room 18 Rest Shrine: Last shrine before Archon. Top off everything. Final blessing upgrade.

Boss Arena: Archon of Storms (Room 24)

Arms of God guide screenshot — Archon of Storms boss

The Archon is the Act 3 final boss and the hardest boss before Divine Engine Omega. It punishes melee builds hard.

Build recommendation: Ranged is strongly preferred. Melee builds eat constant chip damage from the storm aura. If you must melee, bring at least 25% shock resistance and 5+ Divine Vials.

Passive: Storm Aura. Deals 3% max HP per second while within melee range. This is the main reason melee struggles — you are on a timer every time you engage.

Phase 1 (100%-65% HP):

  • Lightning Bolt: Targeted on your position. Blue circle, 1.5s delay. Walk, do not dodge.
  • Wind Gust: Pushes you toward the arena edge. Walk against it — dodging into wind costs extra stamina for no benefit.
  • Tornado Summon (introduced at 80%): Summons 2 tornadoes that track slowly. They despawn after 8 seconds. Hug the arena edge and they will not reach you before despawning.
  • Damage window: After every Lightning Bolt cast, the Archon pauses for 2 seconds.

Phase 2 (65%-30% HP):

  • Tornado count increases to 4. Same strategy — arena edge, keep moving.
  • Lightning Storm: The Archon floats to center and channels for 5 seconds. Lightning strikes randomly across the arena. The safe zone is always a circle around the Archon itself (melee range). Counter-intuitive but designed that way.
  • New attack: Shockwave. The Archon slams the ground, sending a ring of lightning outward. Jump over it (Space bar) — the hitbox is ground-level only.
  • Damage window: During Lightning Storm channel, if you stand in melee range. High risk, high reward.

Phase 3 (30%-0% HP):

  • The Archon enrages. Storm Aura damage doubles (6% per second). You cannot stay in melee for more than 3 seconds.
  • All tornadoes despawn and are replaced by a continuous ring of lightning circling the arena edge. The arena shrinks effectively by 30%.
  • The Archon's attack speed doubles. Lightning Bolts now have only 1 second of warning.
  • Strategy: Ranged DPS from maximum distance. Use your ultimate. Use Divine Barrier if you have it. This is a burn phase — the Archon has no new defensive mechanics.

Post-fight: The Archon drops a Tier 4 weapon component (unique — cannot be obtained anywhere else) and the Storm Key, required for Act 4 access.

Pre-Act 4 Farming Route (Optimal)

Before entering Act 4, consider farming Act 3 Rooms 7-12 (The Armory). Reset at Room 12 by quitting to menu — the Armory gauntlet has the highest elite density per minute in the game. Farm until:

  • All equipped weapons at Tier 3 or higher
  • 500+ gold for the Act 4 merchant
  • 5+ Divine Vials
  • Cathedral HP and Damage upgrades maxed

Act 3 Exit Checklist

Before entering Act 4:

  • [ ] At least one Tier 3 weapon (Tier 4 from Archon is ideal)
  • [ ] Shock resistance of at least 25% (Ascended Plate or blessing)
  • [ ] All 5 weapon slots filled (do not enter Act 4 with empty slots)
  • [ ] Cathedral: Movement Speed maxed, HP 4+, Damage 3+
  • [ ] Divine Barrier consumable purchased
  • [ ] 5+ Divine Vials
